Myrtis Dightman Sr., also known as "The Jackie Robinson of Rodeo" broke the color barrier to be the 1st Black Man to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo in 1964. He went on to quality 5 times in the National Finals Rodeo, finishing 3rd in 1967. He was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, has received a PBR Ring of Honor, and was proclaimed by Texas Monthly as One of the GREATEST!
